From CTE Student to CTE Instructor — Meet Michael Wilson:

For Michael Wilson, teaching Automotive Technology at Clare-Gladwin Career and Technical Education is a full circle moment, as CTE is where his own career first began.

Michael started as a CTE student at Oakland Schools Technical Center at age 16, gaining hands on experience through a work based learning placement at a Ford dealership. Those early opportunities helped shape his path in the automotive industry.

Over the next several years, he built nearly a decade of industry experience, earning master technician certification and working as a Tesla service technician specializing in high voltage systems and electric vehicles.

Now in the classroom at Clare Gladwin CTE, Michael brings real world experience to students as they explore their own interests in the automotive field. Having once been a CTE student himself, he understands firsthand the value of hands on learning and the opportunities it can create.

Welcoming him to Clare-Gladwin CTE brings his experience full circle, now supporting students in the same type of learning that shaped his path.
