About Clare-Gladwin CTE

A generation ago, we knew it as vocational education or skilled trades training

  • Finances and logistics have removed most local schools’ ability to offer it; CTE fills that void

  • It’s offered to juniors and seniors at high schools in Beaverton, Clare, Farwell, Gladwin and Harrison

  • Students get an opportunity to explore many diverse career fields

  • Students learn valuable professional and personal skills that help prepare them for life after high school, whether it’s in college, the workforce or both

More Resources

Are you ready to enroll in CTE…or do you require additional information to make a decision?

  1. If you’re ready to sign up, head over to our Enrollment page. Once you fill out that form and if you meet all the requirements, we’ll coordinate with you, your parents and your school to make it happen.

  2. If you’re not quite sure about CTE just yet, visit our Learn More page. There, you can provide contact info and areas of interest, and one of our representatives will contact you right away.

  3. Check out our CTE in 3:33 section, which features unique videos on each of CTE’s ten programs, from Construction Trades to Culinary Arts, from Welding Technology to Health Occupations, and everywhere in between. These are a great way to take a look inside a program, featuring interviews with students from your school.

  4. Our News section is a great place to learn not only about what we’re doing in our CTE programs, but also to learn about current and former students.

  5. Follow and like us on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and here. All the latest news and updates will be found in these places.

  6. Our Programs pages are written descriptions of each course, with all the information you need to narrow your choice of CTE program.

  7. Talk to current or past CTE students you know. We’re comfortable with what they’ll tell you about CTE.

  8. Talk to your school counselor.

Mutually beneficial for both employers and students.

Whether it's through paid or non-paid work experience, mentoring or job shadowing, our local employers have much to offer the workforce of tomorrow. And CTE students have much to offer employers, today and tomorrow.

CTE's Work-Based Learning program matches prepared students with employment/learning opportunities in the community.

Work-Based Learning is an instructional strategy that is essential in preparing all students for success in post-secondary education and careers and is a core component of the Clare-Gladwin Career & Technical Education program.

The primary purposes of work-based learning are to expose students to future options and provide opportunities for skill development and mastery over time.
