Clare-Gladwin CTE Student Sharpens Culinary Skills at ProStart Camp
Clare-Gladwin Career & Technical Education (CTE) Culinary Arts student Bob Hunt had the opportunity to attend the Nate Santelli ProStart Summer Camp at the Culinary Institute of Michigan in Port Huron. The camp provided students with hands-on experience, team challenges, and insights into the culinary industry.
During the camp, Bob learned pasta- and salad-making techniques, created chocolate flowers, and participated in timed challenges that required creativity and teamwork. Students also worked in groups to develop restaurant business concepts and prepare dishes under pressure.
“I wanted to go to ProStart to learn more and improve my skills,” Bob said. “It was a great experience. I learned new techniques, met a lot of people who share my passion for cooking, and picked up ideas that will help me in the future.”
A student at Farwell High School, Bob hopes to train overseas after graduation and eventually return to open his own restaurant.
