CTE AWARDS RECOGNIZE LOCAL STUDENTS FOR OUTSTANDING WORK
The Clare-Gladwin Career & Technical Education (CTE) program celebrated the accomplishments of more than 390 students at its annual Student Excellence Awards ceremony on May 6, 2025. Students from Clare, Beaverton, Farwell, Gladwin, and Harrison were recognized for their outstanding work during the 2024-25 school year.
Held at the Magnus Center Campus, the event was split into two sessions to accommodate both morning and afternoon CTE programs. Attendees, including students and their families, gathered to celebrate the accomplishments and milestones achieved throughout the past academic year.
CTE Director Eric Johnson opened the ceremony by thanking local administrators, superintendents, counselors, teachers, and parents for their continued support of career and technical education and the students who pursue it.
Addressing the students directly, Johnson said, “Today is about recognizing the commitment you’ve made as CTE students. You’ve taken the initiative to step beyond your home districts and embrace additional responsibilities—whether through safety training, hands-on labs, or work-based learning experiences.”
He also commended students for their involvement beyond the classroom: “It’s impressive to see so many of you spending evenings and weekends pursuing leadership opportunities and competing at such high levels through your CTE programs.”
To the juniors, Johnson added, “If you’re returning next year, you’ll be the first students to learn in our new CTE Education Center, which we’re excited to open in the fall.”
