Learning Environment
Time will be spent in the classroom and AIM lab at MMCC’s Technical Center. Students should have good oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work well with others. Students will spend their first semester focused on manufacturing safety and an introduction to the manufacturing field. Students will use Moodle as a learning management tool to access lecture materials while working hands-on in a laboratory setting.

Length of Program:
Two years if planning to earn a CTE Certificate of Completion
AIM Credential (Math 170 required in addition to two years in CTE classes)
Three years if planning to earn an AIM Certificate; designed for students participating in an Early/Middle College program

This pre-engineering trade and technical program was developed to give students a breadth of knowledge in manufacturing, engineering and engineering technologies. Students have opportunities to design, create and test various products and materials. Due to advancements in industry, it is important that students possess a global understanding of the design for manufacturing processes, including industrial safety, work-flow and product development.
Course Overview
When it comes to hands-on learning, it doesn’t get much more interactive than manufacturing. An ever-evolving industry that is constantly seeking a qualified, experienced new workforce, manufacturing is at the core of the global economy, and jobs abound in a wide variety of industry sectors. If you like building and working with machinery, this is a path you should strongly consider.
The Advanced Integrated Manufacturing (AIM) program is designed to prepare students for careers in the manufacturing industry. In this program, students will have an opportunity to take a series of courses that focus on materials, design and safety, as well as develop leadership skills for work in the field. Manufacturers today are looking for employees who have technical skills in a variety of areas, possess workplace and teamwork skills and have the ability to incorporate and utilize new technologies as they are developed. AIM will help prepare students to join the next generation of manufacturers.

Going to college? Start with CTE
Students who successfully complete coursework in the AIM program can earn college credit toward a credential, certificate or degree from MMCC. The AIM program pathway is designed so that students can ladder their education and begin earning credit toward an AIM credential while a junior in high school.
College Partnerships & High School Credit
Successful students will earn dual enrollment college and high school credit through MMCC
Who’s Up For a Second Helping?
Students interested in returning for the program’s second year must:
Have 10 or fewer unexcused absences per year
Have zero classroom discipline referrals
Maintain a 2.0 or above grade point average
Be an effective and collaborative team member
Be self-directed and have a personal desire to pursue a career in manufacturing

Program Schedule:
A.M. Session - 8 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
College Credit, High School Credit and CTE Certification
Students may earn the state-required fourth-year math-related course credit through this program. Students may also earn Algebra 2 credit at their local high school based on successful completion and prior approval by their local high school principal/counselor. Local high schools will award credit upon successful completion of this program. The CTE Certificate of Completion will be awarded to students who successfully complete their programs. In addition, students can earn college credits upon successful completion of their courses, ultimately leading toward a credential, certificate or degree.
