Clare-Gladwin CTE is pleased to support the City of Clare and the Youth Police Academy, providing local students with valuable opportunities to learn about careers in public safety.
Throughout the academy, students have learned from professionals representing a variety of agencies, including the Michigan State Police Motorcycle Unit, the FBI, the Isabella County Prosecutor's Office, the Michigan DNR Law Enforcement Division, the Clare County Sheriff's Office, the Clare County Dive Team, and military police. These presentations gave students a firsthand look at the many career paths available in law enforcement and public safety.
Today, participants are wrapping up the academy with a visit to Camp Grayling, where they'll tour the installation and experience a special stop at the aerial gunnery range to watch F-16s from the Ohio Air National Guard conduct training exercises.
Thank you to the City of Clare for organizing this outstanding program and to all of the agencies and professionals who made this experience possible for our local students. @CityofClare #CityofClare #CTEitsWorking #CGRESD #youthpoliceacademy

Clare-Gladwin CTE NEXTGEN SUMMER CAMP successfully wrapped up yesterday, and it went out with a bang! Over the course of three days, campers entering grades 3–6 and 7–10 took part in one of nine exciting CTE programs. Depending on their chosen program, students spent the final day either finishing projects, exploring an ambulance, participating in an automotive scavenger hunt, learning about construction equipment, making homemade ice cream, simulating a live broadcast, racing balloon cars, decorating cupcakes, and much more.
Thank you to all of the campers and staff who made this year special. We enjoyed sharing our facilities, programs, and instructors with you, and most importantly, having fun together. We hope you had a great experience, discovered new interests, and made lasting memories.
We can't wait to welcome everyone back next year as we continue to grow CTE NEXTGEN Summer Camp and make it even bigger and better!

Culinary Arts Instructor Heidi Rocha had the opportunity to take four 2nd year students (FHS grad - Bob Hunt & HHS grads - Jasper Caster, Amber Walters, & Alexis Brooks) to attend the National Restaurant Association (NRA) Show at McCormick place in Chicago. The NRA show is the largest Food Show in the world. The trip was paid for by catering profits.
Students experienced professional development, showing student opportunities in the industry, networking with professionals, and learning about products. At the beginning of the show there was a panel of hospitality professionals who shared their stories and helpful tips for getting into the industry.
The group also had the opportunity to explore various attractions and restaurants around Chicago (Navy Pier, Chicago 360, Millenium Park, Museum of Science & Industry).

Welcome back students! Last week, Clare-Gladwin Career & Technical Education (CTE) opened the 2025-26 school year with an exciting start. The day began with a special ceremony in the new CTE Education Center Conference Room before students headed to their program labs and classrooms. By the end of the week, students from Beaverton, Clare, Farwell, Gladwin, and Harrison schools were already engaging in hands-on learning and exploring all that CTE has to offer. #CGRESD #CTEitsWorking

Work-Based Learning (WBL) is an opportunity where students here at CTE get placed into a local business to use their skills that they've learned in their chosen program. They get to experience firsthand the real-world workforce and gain industry-relevant experience. WBL students could potentially gain an income doing what they learned and enjoy doing! We currently have 116 students in the field with these local businesses and the numbers are still increasing!
